The Timberdick Mysteries are a series of murder stories set in the sleazy back-streets of a south coast seaport in post war Britain.

The amateur detective is a call-girl who solves the mysteries by listening carefully to what people say. “I got there by thinking, not by fingerprints,” she tells her policeman in the first novel.  

Timberdick's First Case, Liking Good Jazz, Piggy Tuckers Poison, The Parish of Frayed Ends, The Clue of the Curates Cushion and The Case of the Naughty Wife follow the characters through 1963-66.

The Case of The Dirty Verger takes us back to 1947 and Timberdick's first nights on Goodladies Road.  A Mystery of Cross Women tells us about Ned's early career in 1937, providing the first episode in the saga.

The latest book, Peggy Pinch Policemans Wife, set in 1926, is the first in a new series of mysteries. "If they are all as readable as this one, I shall be waiting for the next." (Shropshire Star)
