Newsletter # 3 (Oct 09)Malcolm Noble’s Timberdick Mysteries |
The Timberdick Mysteries are a series of murder stories set in the sleazy back-streets of a south coast seaport in post war Britain. This bulletin has news of the next Timberdick book, some special promotions and changes to our website. But first ... An E-Book I am delighted to confirm that A Mystery of Cross Women (published last February) will be the first Timberdick title offered as an E-Book. Arrangements should be in place in time for Christmas. Please keep an eye on the title’s page on the website, or let us know if you would like us to email you when the details have been settled.
The Clue of the Curate’s Cushion The seventh Timberdick Mystery will be The Clue of the Curate’s Cushion (ISBN ). The formal publication date has been set for 5 April 2010.
Here is the novel’s blurb:
“I’m twice the detective you’ll ever be. I already know who murdered Amy Bulpit and I’m not telling you.” Ned Machray knew she was teasing. It was all part of Timberdick’s game to teach him a lesson. The Spring of 1966 is an easy time for Constable Machray. His assignment to light duties has been extended so he can spend hours on his toy train sets. The All Women Modellers of Hazeley’s Bottom have invited him to speak at their monthly meeting and the delectable Doctor Deborah wants him to stroke her bare feet. How can life get better? At first, he paid little attention to the murders. This time, he would let the CID do their job. But when the Vicar presents him with his own locked room mystery, Ned finds too many connections with the recent deaths on Goodladies Road. There’s talk of spies and society vendettas and Ned is sure the solution is hidden in the church cellar. But it takes our Timberdick to find the Clue of the Curate’s Cushion.
